The gingival recession is not a chronic disease. However it is capable of marring the beauty and perfection of a smile resulting in exposed roots of teeth. It is a common problem in individuals over the age of 40 and it has been estimated that almost half the adults in the United States suffer from this discomfiting condition.
Gum recession (as gingival recession is commonly referred to as) can be corrected by dentists but the procedure is lengthy, invasive and extremely painful.
THE CONVENTIONAL SOLUTION TO GUM RECESSION:
The traditional answer to the problem involves dentists stripping a length of tissue from the roof of the mouth and stitching the wound close. This bit is then grafted to the exposed area of the affected teeth by lifting the gum over the gingival margin.
As is obvious, the patient suffers from pain, swelling and bleeding. It takes more than 3 to 4 weeks for the connective tissue from the grafting to settle and heal; upon which if needed a second round has to be initiated to cover the remaining teeth. Since there is a limit to the length of the tissue that can be extracted from the roof, it is potentially a recurring procedure spanning months.
Patients complain of terrible bouts of sensitivity due of abrasive brushing by the tongue, which is largely an independently mobile appendage. Some people have to be on a restricted diet throughout the entire healing period.
THE BREAKTHROUGH:
The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST) patented by Dr. John Chao has provided relief to the multitudes afflicted with gingival recession. His suture free, scalper free procedure has garnered tremendous interest and has already grabbed more than 10 million views over 240 media platforms.
It involves creating a pin-hole sized incision high on the gum through which special instruments are inserted to gently loosen the gum, covering the exposed roots. Small doses of collagen balance the gums and allow healing to quicken.
Patients make do only with local anesthesia and require minimal monitoring or pain relief medications later. The pin-hole heals of its own accord because of the tiny diameter.
The Precision Dental Lab standing for aesthetics, strength and durability is proud to offer the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique under the supervision of certified doctors who have the expertise to carry off this non-invasive procedure.
Developed as a result of 10 years of hard labour by Dr. Chao, it is definitely one of the most important dental breakthroughs of the decade.
