SPM began in July of 1979. We began our quest in a small rented facility in Chicago with only 3 Swiss style screw machines. At that time all of our work was Medical which forced us to be quality conscious not only dimensionally, but also esthetically. In a few short years we grew to 18 machines and a small secondary department. We were getting a reputation for machining the tough stainless materials while providing a quality product. As time went on, our expertise diversified into many materials and various industries.

Today we utilize a variety of equipment offering our customers many different options. The management team at SPM believes in reinvesting the profits into the company keeping abreast of all the leading technologies. Strategic planning, good direction and Company goals have paved the way to our future and our customers. We have improved our Machining abilities and our Engineering abilities. Here at SPM, we can manufacture your product as well as troubleshoot or assist in design. Machining products to meet specifications is one thing; understanding their usage and recognizing potential problems is quite another.
